Spare Parts
Spare parts: pads, lifting tubes and filters
A vacuum tube lifter has a short list of wear parts: filter cartridges, pad seals, the lifting tube and its wear cover, hoses and clamps, and the seals in the handle valve and top swivel. This page lists them with the replacement intervals seen in the industry, the kit we suggest ordering with the lifter, the daily pre-use check, and how to order parts for your model. Parts are listed for our vacuum tube lifters only.
- Wear parts with the intervals seen in the industry
- A first-stock kit to order with the lifter
- Parts ordered by model and serial number
- Original parts for our own models
The intervals on this page are industry experience rather than Cowest test data, and dust in the load shortens the filter intervals in particular.

Wear parts
Wear parts and how often they are replaced
| Part | What failure looks like | Check | Replace |
|---|---|---|---|
| Pump-side filter cartridge | Clogging: less suction, blower runs hot | Weekly; blow out at low pressure | Uncleanable or damaged; 3–6 months if dusty |
| Pad filter mesh | Same as above | Weekly | Same as above |
| Pad seal lip, gasket or foam | Worn, cut, hardened or shiny, so it leaks | Every shift, by eye | Damaged; about 3–12 months on sacks |
| Lifting tube | Punctures, abrasion, twisted wire, torn fabric, over-stretch, ageing | Every shift by eye, weekly in detail | At once if damaged; about 1–3 years |
| Tube wear cover | Worn through | Weekly | When worn through, so the tube is not punctured |
| Hoses and clamps | Cracked, loose, hissing | Weekly | Damaged; clamps renewed whenever the tube is refitted |
| Handle valve and its seals | Sticking, unstable hold | Weekly function check | At the yearly service as needed |
| Top swivel and safety valve | Stiff rotation, failed power-off test | Weekly test | Stop the lifter and have it repaired by authorised staff |
| Side-channel blower | Noise, vibration, overheating | Any time | Bearing noise means a repair, not a part |
| Trolley wheels | Hard to push, noisy | With the crane checks | When worn |
| Labels | Faded or missing | Weekly | Replace in the local language |
One maker of vacuum lifting devices advises new pads at least every 2 years, which is that maker's advice rather than an industry rule. Ask us to list the recommended stock parts in the quotation for your lifter.
Spare-parts kit
Recommended spare-parts kit with the lifter
Ordering the first set of wear parts with the lifter avoids a stoppage waiting for a courier. The kit below is a common industry recommendation per lifter; in dusty plants the filter cartridges are doubled.
Use original parts: non-original parts can put operators at risk; warranty terms are confirmed in the quotation. Where pads are colour-coded, the pad and the lifter must carry the same code. Ask for the kit as a separate line in the quotation so you can see what it costs.
state the model and serial number and we price the kit with the lifter or on its own.

Daily check
Daily pre-use checklist
The pre-use check before the first lift of each shift looks at the tube and its cover, the hoses, the pad seal, the filter, the handle and one test lift with a typical load. The full twelve-point list, with the weekly, quarterly and yearly schedule and a troubleshooting table, is on the maintenance checklist page.
Ordering spare parts by model
Tell us the lifter model and serial number, the part name from the tables above and, for pads, the pad type: sack pads SUS190×290R and SUS230×380R, carton pads SFD and HB, round drum pads, HB bellows pads or the SHP hook. Prices, lead times and shipping for parts are confirmed in the quotation.
Condition: this page lists parts for our own models; we do not state compatibility with other makers' lifters.
